Geospatial - or “location” - data and information underpin everything we do. Understanding where things happen helps us better understand our environment and address the societal challenges, including climate change, disaster management, public health, trade and economic development, and natural resources management.
Canada’s spatial data infrastructure, known as the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI), consists of geospatial data itself and the system of standards, policies, applications, and governance that enable its access, sharing, use, integration, and preservation for various purposes.
This consultation ran from February 7, 2025 to March 23, 2025 (EST). We would like to thank you for your participation.
The round table reports are included below. A Canadian Geospatial Strategy will be available early in 2026.
